ABOUT US

In Ghana, there is a prevailing view that individuals with disabilities are worth less than others. Without support and education and in desperation, families often leave their children in orphanages or prayer camps, where they are deprived of their basic needs.

We aim to eradicate this stigma and support individuals with disabilities to live a meaningful life by guiding these families through our 4 stages of support.

1)    Intervention – We aim to meet each family’s immediate needs through sponsorship, funding medical care, therapeutic interventions, education, housing, nutritional support, etc. to create a safe and loving environment while we work with the family over the long term.

2)    Foundation – We believe that a family cannot thrive without a solid foundation of support. We aim to offer counselling and support groups and connect families in similar circumstances, all over Kumasi so that they can better support one another.

3)    Prevention – We aim to empower families so that they can become independent. We offer education on their children's needs and support the family through medical appointments and necessary therapies. Parents are also given access to business training to encourage families to become self-sufficient.

4)    Education – The stigma of both developmental and medical needs often isolates families in Ghana. We hope to eradicate that stigma by offering training to local healthcare providers, schools and churches. By partnering with leaders in the community we dream of a Kumasi that strives for inclusivity in every aspect of life.
