Abdul Hamid

Meet Abdul Hamid, one of the cutest little boys ever! Abdul Hamid can be a little bit quiet, with a curious look upon his face when he first meets new people or is in a new situation. This makes it all the more wonderful when you catch his bright smile. He has 3 older siblings and lots of cousins who visit often so he is desperate to be able to join in with all their fun and games. A big family also means that Abdul has a team of budding physiotherapists around him who are always encouraging him!

Abdul Hamid is just two years old and although he is delayed in both gross motor skills, such as standing and walking, and speech and language, it is great that his family have identified his needs early and support can be given through early interventions. We hope, with the right support, that Abdul Hamid will grow and develop amongst his peers and be given the opportunity to be included in education and life from a young age so that he can go from strength to strength.

Early Interventions for Abdul:

  • Twice a month physiotherapy – once at home and once at FFG centre. Abdul’s family, including parents and siblings are being trained to be involved with his therapy so that they can carry it out daily at home and make it fun and engaging for Abdul.

  • Specialised Gaiters used to wrap around his knees to promote knee joint strength and posture.

  • Once a month speech and language therapy – working on speech sounds and communication of basic needs

  • Play therapy and fine motor activities

  • Project Peanut Butter growth sachets – is a high quality nutritional supplement, that is energy dense which will help Adbul maintain a healthy weight, support his health and give energy for physiotherapy.
